Annoyed in Germany
Better would my life be, if I could pack my bags and flee.
Death do I not mean, but there's nothing worse I have seen.
Anywhere else I could go on, wise man said it before, it was John.
~
Walking with my bare feet though, if I only were at home.
Don't even think such things,
Here they have absolute strings!
They don't giggle, laugh or play
There's no freaking way.
No sir, not even for fun.
Only pointing you with a figurative gun.
~
”Don't open the kitchen door! Remember to scrub the floor!”
Feels like hitting refrain, my life is such a pain.
Obay the order, command and rule, I feel like I'm their tool.
Everyday something new, oh should I learn kung fu?
~
Worst must be the mom, there were three bread crumb,
on the table next to me, and she thinks it's a start of a small sea:
”It's piling up really fast, oh thank god you cleaned it up at last!”
~
It's like she wants to eat from the floor, soon I will declare a war.
Just give me a gun! Please, at least let me punch someone.
I bought the plain ticket, I bet you ”dig it”.
I can't take this anymore. Finland, you are the only one I adore.
~
The feeling is getting stronger, I can't wait any longer.
~
The autumnal breeze, lovely colourful trees,
Home is what it all represent, no more this torment.
Feeling light as air, by the nature, right there.
~
I would work anywhere. Honestly, I swear!
Though I'd rather storm in the woods, beside a bear and a moose.
I could roll up my sleeves and rake the beautiful leaves,
go to the library and read a book about strawberry
Climb to a tree, hide there where no one can see me.
~
After sun goes down and there's no one left to play around,
We would get a map and dig up a swell trap
to anyone who's trying to find the treasure.
Because that's what we will do ourselves on our leisure.
~
For a bedtime story, we would read a tale full of glory:
Robin Hood and his Merry Men, or Peter Pan flying over Big Ben.
Celebrating till the dawn, we would be living on,
I would not hide in the dark, I would be out there running around the park.
Smiling to everyone willing to see, to everyone who wants to be as happy as me
~
To you all in the dear homeland, playing in the same band:
Let's play the same tune, we will see each other quite soon

Defeated
In
the night's darkest hours thinking the future of ours:
It's all in vain - just meaningless pain
Why would I want to make it better,
just write the suicide letter
All your fears
It's all in vain - just meaningless pain
Why would I want to make it better,
just write the suicide letter
All your fears
are
coming and it's nothing
compared to the shared scare
you're about to pass through
”Listen to you!”
compared to the shared scare
you're about to pass through
”Listen to you!”
Just silence and the fucking violence
are
now with you in this world so blue
”But you can create a new ice cold life:
with a brand new wife!”
”Dancing on the edge of the sharpest knife?”
”But you can create a new ice cold life:
with a brand new wife!”
”Dancing on the edge of the sharpest knife?”
”Just pull the trigger and figure
that this all disappears – ends in tears.”
…
Walking to the grave trying to act brave,
holding your sons hand, don't shiver - just stand.
You did this, you caused it
Are you happy now? Take your bow.

The Poor Poor Grandmother
...............................
I have told you about my grandmother in one story before. If you have read them you know that our grandmother lives right next door to our home so she was unfortunate enough to be our target in our every day tricks and mischief. Poor grandmother. Now afterwards, I really feel sorry for her and I'm amazed she didn't move or ordered our parents to move as far as they could from her.
You also know that we lived in a countryside and our uncle had a farm of cows. Naturally the farm had been our grandparents and they still worked there.
Once again, during summer, me and my brother (being the brains of our pranks) were visiting our grandmother. Our grandfather being outside doing the usual every day work, chopping firewood, getting hay to the cows and taking care of them. So the time came when our grandmother joined her husband and son in the byre. She told us that we could stay inside and play if we'd like while she was working. And we did, for a while.
Now the thing is that our grandmother had a basket full of yarns because she was knitting socks and mittens (because that's how we prepare for the winter in Finland). We had a permission to look at the yarns and play with them if we'd put them back nicely winded as they were.
So what did my brother do? Had the best idea ever, of course. He took some of those yarn balls and winded them open, tied one of them around a chair's leg with double knots, dragged the ball of yarn to a couch and tied it with triple knots and so on and so on. Till all of the yarn was used and the living room looked like it was a nest of a giant spider. Then he took another yarn and went on. After this I noticed that it was rather fun and joined my brother on this mission.
We dragged and tied the yarns around chairs, lamps, the couch, doorknobs, toilet seat, cupboards, mirrors, TV, rocking chair, their bed ... Our grandparents have an attic, so naturally we climbed up there and did the same there, came downstairs and my brother had another swell idea. Why would we do this just inside the house? Why not take it to the outside as well! So he climbed on a chair, opened a window and jumped out of it still holding on few balls of yarn in his hands. The window wasn't very far from the ground so he was just fine when he landed. Then he ran to the nearest tree (yes, all of my stories have something to do with trees because we spend quite some time in climbing in them or building tree houses to them), climbed on one of the branches and started to throw the yarns so that they would stick to the branches even higher he was sitting on.
Meanwhile I was still inside the house because I didn't want to jump out of the window. I continued the work there and when I thought it was beautiful enough and that our grandparents would have the loveliest time trying to walk around there. Do you know the game called "twist string"? Where you have a rubber band big enough that two of your friends can stand in each end and you can jump on it. Kind of like skipping rope but with large rubber band (here is a video for you guys who don't know what it is to jump twist). So what I had in my childish mind was that this whole thing would be a great funny game for our grandparents: they could play twist inside their house all the time!
My brother had come back inside through the normal way, door - after running few laps around the house with the yarns of course, making the house look like a giant present. Together we decided we were done, left our grandparents house and went back home.
After a while, when our grandparents had gone back to their home, obviously discovered what had happened and knew who was behind all that our lovely grandmother was on our door. Me and my brother knew exactly what was going on so we hide into the bathroom and locked the door.
It didn't end well as you can imagine. We were told to go back to the next door and take scissors with us and cut all of the yarn and thrown it away. Nobody made us pay the yarn we had used but after that I can't remember my grandmother buying anymore yarn for knitting socks or mittens. So I could say that was the end of my grandmother's knitting career - but it wasn't the end of our adventures.
Lesson: Don't be so mean to your grandparents.
But if you do... No, just don't.

Poor Grandmother
....................
When I was smaller there used to be an
ice-cream truck which drove around the town playing the tune and once
a week it drove through the street we lived. We sometimes bought
ice-cream from there but it was much more expensive than in a store
and they only sell ice-cream bars and ice-cream cones from the truck.
They came in different sized boxes and our grandmother usually bought
the ones which were very small (it only took like 5 bites before we'd
eaten them) and there was like 50 in one package. Our mom didn't buy
them that often because she used to buy it from the store. I may have
forgotten to tell that our grandparents live right next door to our
house, just to clear things up so that you don't wonder how this is
geographically possible.
On a very lovely summer day when the sun was shining bright and we had eaten the meal at home we got an ice-cream cones for dessert. After we'd eaten them outside our mom went back in to do some chores and we stayed outside. During summer time we practically lived outside rather than inside the house. We only got in for meals and sleep (sometimes not even for that because we liked to sleep in our playhouse with our pillows and blankets).

We only got in for meals and sleep (sometimes not even for that because we liked to sleep in our playhouse with our pillows and blankets).
My brother had the best idea ever: we should try to get an extra ice-cream cones from our grandmother. We would just simply not tell her that our mom already had given us both one at home. So we ran to our grandparents house and asked if we could have cones because we had eaten the meal properly. She said of course and then she "threw" us out because she was cleaning. My brother almost ate his before I had had the wrappers off. He still had a small piece from the cone and he dropped it on the ground on a yard stones, stepped on it and mushed and spread it well on the stone. At this point I didn't have a clue what he was up to, I was just happy because I had my ice-cream.
After that he went
back inside and created a fake cry "Grandma, my ice-cream
fell on the ground and the sun melted it on the stones". Our
grandmother, being the nicest person in the world just smiled and
said "It's fine, don't worry. You can take another one from
the freezer." And she gave my brother another, watched as he
ran outside, climbed to a tree near the house so high that our
grandmother couldn't reach him if she wanted. Then he yelled "Hahaaa!
I only fooled you! I already ate my ice-cream and melted a bit on the
ground. Now you have to give another one to Sarppa as well!"
Of course she gave me one but after that she always asked first from
our mom if we had had ice-cream before giving us any.
Lesson: Don't fool your dear
grandmother.
But if you do, don't tell her the plot – keep it as a secret and it may work some other time too.

The Raft
..............................................
I'll tell one story for now - the raft one, it's not even funny but I hope it's entertaining...
I think I was 7 when this happened and
my brother was 8. Well, we lived (our parents still do) in country
side and my uncle owns a farm with cows. So we grew up in the middle
of the fields and woods, about 1,5km away from our home behind the
fields was a river. Small enough for a grown up man to stand without
his hips getting wet from the water when it was "a dry season".
When the river flooded in spring we had no business in there because
the stream was so strong and it would've been the end of our precious
little lives.
When we were small we didn't have much money because our parents were young and they just finished building our house when I was six months old. So this meant that our mom always made our clothes from fabric and it was fine by us! The clothes were cool and unique :) One fine day our mom came home from the city and she had bought us both brand new jeans! It was the best surprise to us because we never had had pair of jeans and our friends at school had. Oh man the joy we had!

It was summer time and few weeks after she had bought us the jeans we put them on when our mom was outside probably gardening, I can't remember. We went to play outside in the fields and the forest near the river. Usually we played by the river, there we had a secret place where we had built up a "cottage" with branches and hay. And in the river by the cottage we had a raft. A real raft on which we could go to the other side of the river (river was 5-7meters wide) where the redcurrants grew wild and we always picked them with our parents. We had never taken the raft by ourselves before but my brother had been on it with our cousin who was maybe 3-4 years older than us. So he thought that he would have the same strength to get the raft back upstream after going down the river.
So we took the raft and went on a quite
a while down the stream. But when we wanted to go back we didn't have
enough strenght so that we could've pushed the raft back (we had
small trees which we used as canes).
So my brother said that it can't be that deep, only 20cm (when we wisely measured it with the canes) and he rolled his jeans up to the knees and jumped to the water. Well, the water was almost up to his hips. So he climbed back on the raft and rolled his jeans as much as he could and jumped back. Now, being the bossy big brother he was he still had a bit of chivarly in his heart and he didn't expect me to jump on the water (which was very dirty and brown) to ruin my new jeans.
After a while, when he tried to pull and I tried to push the raft, we noticed we hadn't moved at all. So I rolled my jeans as much as I could and jumped to the water with him. This way we got the raft back, run back to home and tried to clean up the jeans. It didn't really help because the nice blue colour they had been - was all gone. They were dirty brown and while tried to figure out how to hide the expensive brand new jeans from our mom she walked in to the bathroom. She yelled at us about the jeans but we were happy that she yelled only a little and couldn't understand why she was more furious about us going on the raft just by the two of us than about ruining the jeans.
Lesson: Don't use your new jeans on
your greatest adventures.
But if you do – don't get caught.

Little bit about my background
...........................
I grew up with my older brother and we
didn't have many neighbours who had kids our age so we used to do
everything together. I was the angel and he always lured me into
doing evil little things to make our parents life a bit more
miserable.
My big brother is only one year older than me. I also
have two little brothers but the other one is 4 and other 12 years
younger than me so I was already ”too old” to play with them.
All these stories are true, they
happened when we were kids.
I am a female, now in my 20's from Finland. Chef by summer and a teaching assistant by rest of the year.
Book lover, story teller, crazy person living alone - talking to the walls sometimes.
Excuse my English I'm not native speaker - all comments are welcome!

About
Hello,
I thought I would refresh this page. It first it was about me posting some photos I've been taking but I'm so lazy uploading those photos on my computer and adding them to my blog so I decided to quit.
Now this blog has a whole other meaning. I have always loved to write stuff. I've written short stories, poems, letters and cards since I was a small kid. So what better way of using this page than to put my great adventures in here! I know!
There is a story I'm writing and translating into English and you can find it from here The Continuing Story of Matt. I'm a Finnish girl who writes in Finnish but many of my foreign friends have requested me to translate some of my work into English so that they could read my silly scribbles too I decided to do it. So please, excuse my English, it's not perfect I know - and suggestions and improvements are always very welcome! :)
